Mill Valley, CA

January 2023

This project explores the hidden potential of a basement, transforming it into a fully integrated master suite that seamlessly connects with the rest of the home.

The design reimagines the lower level as a private and comfortable retreat, creating valuable new living space while enhancing the overall flow and functionality of the house. Thoughtful planning allowed the basement to become a bright, welcoming extension of the home rather than a secondary space.

The newly designed master area includes:

  • A spacious master bedroom, designed as a calm and elegant sanctuary

  • A custom dressing room, carefully organized for everyday ease

  • A luxurious bathroom, featuring refined materials and spa-inspired finishes

  • A separate toilet, adding comfort and privacy

By unlocking the potential of the basement, the project creates a generous master suite without altering the home’s footprint, offering both improved livability and long-term value.

This transformation demonstrates how thoughtful design can turn underused spaces into beautiful, highly functional living environments that elevate everyday life.
